<p>Krotz Springs -- It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Alfred Jewel Lacassin announces that he passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at his home in Krotz Springs, LA, at the age of 75.</p> <p>A Memorial Service&nbsp;will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Krotz Springs Community Center, located at 216 Park Street, Krotz Springs, LA, 70750.</p> <p>Mr. Alfred, a native and life-long resident of Krotz Springs, LA, was a loving father, grandfather and husband. Everyone that knew him knew a gracious and gentle man.&nbsp; He was a member of the Carpenter&#39;s Local Union, NRA and a U. S. Navy Veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War. Alfred was a very gifted carpenter and gunsmith and if he didn&rsquo;t have the right tool to get the job done, he would invent his own.&nbsp; Once he set his mind on accomplishing a task or mastering a new interest, there was nothing that could stand in his way.&nbsp;&quot;If you do something, do it right!&quot; was his favorite quote.</p> <p>After retirement Alfred finally had the time to renew his relationship with the outdoors, which he took full advantage of.&nbsp; He could be found most days on Half Moon fishing for sac-a-lait and brim. Later in his years, he enjoyed watching black and white movies, documentaries, and his favorite movie, The Equalizer.&nbsp; Alfred will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.</p> <p>He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jane Durham Lacassin of Krotz Springs; sons: Ryan Lacassin and wife, Christie of Carencro; Clay Lacassin and fiance&#39;, Holly Napier of Lafayette; Eric Lacassin and wife, Brooke of Oscar; and step children Patrick Boudreaux, Debra Strunk, Lisa Hurley, and Elizabeth Boudreaux; sisters:&nbsp; Audrey Marie Halphan, Mary &quot;Acklin&quot; Doucette, and Mary &quot;Margaret&quot; Credeur; brothers: David &quot;Magoo&quot; Lacassin, and Gerard Lacassin, Sr.; grandchildren: Averi, Alyssa, Drew, Waylon, Jonah, Finnly, Andrea, Kaitlyn, Ian, Nathan, and Madeline; and great grandchildren: Riley and Gwen.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents; Louis Pete Lacassin, Sr. and Elmire Angelle Lacassin; his brothers: James Grady Lacassin, Louis Lacassin, Jr., Glenn Joseph Lacassin, Harold Frances Lacassin, John &quot;Johnny&quot; Edward Lacassin, and Arthur Doug Lacassin; and his twin infant daughters: Dana Lacassin and Dawn Lacassin.</p> <p>Family and friends are invited to sign and view the online guestbook at www.lafondardoin.com.</p> <p>LaFond Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs, 239 8th Street, Krotz Springs, LA, 70750, (337)942-2638, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Krotz Springs -- It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Alfred Jewel Lacassin announces that he passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at his home in Krotz Springs, LA, at the age of 75.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Krotz Springs Community Center, located at 216 Park Street, Krotz Springs, LA, 70750.

Mr. Alfred, a native and life-long resident of Krotz Springs, LA, was a loving father, grandfather and husband. Everyone that knew him knew a gracious and gentle man.  He was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union, NRA and a U. S. Navy Veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War. Alfred was a very gifted carpenter and gunsmith and if he didn’t have the right tool to get the job done, he would invent his own.  Once he set his mind on accomplishing a task or mastering a new interest, there was nothing that could stand in his way. "If you do something, do it right!" was his favorite quote.
