Obituary
David William Liening, age 72, of Sterling Heights, died on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. He was born on February 7, 1948 in Detroit to William and Marillyn Liening. David worked in the tool and die industry for over 40 years before his retirement. A devoted parishioner of St. Blase Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. David enjoyed helping those he knew with his expertise in home improvement, helping with repairs and renovations when he could. After the job was finished, he would only request a quality home cooked meal in return for his labors. He is survived by two devoted sons, Brian (Carly) Liening of White Lake and Brent (Heather) Liening of Oxford; five brothers and sisters, Linda (John) Jacques, Diane (Tom) Meldrum, Garry (Tracey) Liening, Kevin (Donna) Liening, and Penny (Bob) Proffitt; and his three cherished grandchildren, Livy, Trevor, and Nolan. David is also survived by numerous extended family and close friends. He will be missed by many. Aside from his loving parents, David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joy Liening who passed in 2015. A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm in A.H. Peters Funeral Home of Warren (32000 Schoenherr Rd), with a wake service to be held at 5:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 9:30 am in St. Blasé Catholic Church (12151 15 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights), with instate held after 9:00 am until the start of mass. Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in David’s memory. PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE: A face mask is required to be worn by those those who plan on attending the wake service on Sunday evening, and the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Blase Catholic Church on Monday morning.
