<p>Charmaine V. Desharnais born November 7, 1932 to Joseph Raymond Desharnais(Lucien) and Veronica Desharnais ( nee Slattery) in Brooks Alberta. Charmaine was one of three children, older sister, Jacqueline (Allan Calkins) and younger brother, Lionel (Betty Desharnais) both predeceased.&nbsp; Charmaine was a career driven, independent woman and worked for the Bank of Montreal for over 30 years ending her career in Edmonton. Charmaine enjoyed her years working with her clients, regaling many stories and anecdotes, a true banker. We were always captivated and entertained.<br /> Most of all Charmaine was a favorite Auntie to five nieces and nephews, Glen Calkins, Michelle DeFilippi, Cheryl Jevne, Neal Calkins and Lori Desharnais; and grand nieces and nephews, Dale Calkins, Anna De Filippi, Paul De Filippi, Hanna Jevne, Amy Jevne, Eric Desharnais, Ryann, Cori, Jack Calkins, and Molly Calkins. Charmaine, known as Charmy, was truly charming, lovely and full of love for all her family.<br /> In retirement, Charmaine enjoyed many close friends and neighbors, finally learned to swim, and traveled widely with her sister Jacqueline and family, to London, Paris, Houston and Hawaii. Charmaine was very close to her brother Lionel and would spend many holidays and weekends with Lionel and family in Wetaskiwin, Alberta.<br /> Charmaine Desharnais passed away at University of Alberta hospital, Saturday, October 17, 2020, and will be interred with her parents, Joseph Raymond and Veronica Desharnais. Charmaine was much loved by her family and will be missed dearly. No service is planned. Donations may be directed to Alzheimer&#39;s charities and services.</p>
