Mary Jane Parker, 77, of Ottumwa, died at 9:47 p.m. October 18, 2020 at her home. She was born January 23, 1943 Ottumwa to Charles and Nellie Yates Rupe. She married Earnest “Ernie” M. Parker on June 27, 1959 and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2009. Mary earned a degree in nursing from Indian Hills Community College and worked as a nurse at Ridgewood Care Center for over 30 years. Serving are her children, Pat (Kris) Parker, Ron “Bugs” (Lovie) Parker, Toni Archer all of Ottumwa, Jackie (Jerry) Cox of Ollie, Wayne (Kelly) Jones of Bussey and Rick Canny of Floris; special daughter-in-law, Lila Parker; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Carol (Dave) McCall of Bloomfield and Karen (Steve) Smith of Batavia. She was preceded in death by children, Mick Long and Lonny Parker; siblings, Joe, Roy, Frank and Raymond Rupe, Bette McNabb, Kay Shepherd, Marie Ogden and Joane Stivers. Limited open visitation will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, October 22nd at Reece Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the visitation. Online condolences may be left at www.rfh-ia.com. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 23rd at Bridge View Center in Ottumwa. Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis & Wapello Counties.
