Alice Blackmon Miller

 

     Alice Blackmon Miller,  90, of Graham,  passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, 10/19/2020 after a brief illness.

 

     A native of Alamance County,  she was the wife of the late Lenis Jasper “Buck” Miller and the daughter of Marshall Dewey Blackmon and Zola Woods Blackmon,  both deceased.   Alice was a graduate of Elon College and then earned her Masters in Education,  graduating  Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro.  She retired from teaching in elementary education from North Graham Elementary School after 25 years of educating children.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham.

 

     She is survived by two sons,  Len Miller,  of Greensboro and Jeff Miller and his wife JoJo, of Mebane.  Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Jason Miller, of Raleigh and Melanie Miller-Carty, of Louisburg; two step grandchildren,  Christopher Eddins and fiance' Lisa Yodis and Dustin Eddins,  of Terrell, Tx.    Very special extended family include Vernell and Robin Sealy,  of Lake Lure.

 

      In addition to her husband and parents,  Alice was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Neal Miller and Barry Lee Miller;  sisters, Sybil B. Walters, Kathleen Lewis and a brother, Dewey Blackmon.

 

     A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday,  10/22/2020 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham.  Pastor Gary Williams will officiate.  Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park.

   

     The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.,  prior to the service.
