Charles Everett Diskey Obituary

Charles Everett Diskey, age 83 of Marion passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 in his home.

Charles was born July 21, 1937 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Edward Wilbert and Mary Elizabeth (Haney) Diskey.  He was a mechanic and owned and operated L&C Towing and Diskey’s Garage. 

Charles was an avid NASCAR and boat racing fan.  He loved his dog, Tippy and enjoyed fireworks. Charles deeply loved his family and the time spent with them all.

He is survived by daughters, Mary Jo Hamilton (Rick) of Milton, Kentucky, Sarah Tackett (Jeff) of Bedford, Kentucky, Rosetta Tackett-Smallwood of Dorton, Kentucky, Judy Stepp of Westminster, South Carolina,  and Josett Matlock of Bloomington, Indiana; a step-son, Charlie Matlock of Bloomington, Indiana; two brothers, Arthur Aleen Diskey (Theresa) and David Wilbur Diskey (Patricia A.); sister, Patricia Ann Diskey Bowman (Michael); 20 grandchildren, and 60 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Everett Diskey, Jr.; a step-son, Glen Matlock; brothers, Edward Wilbert Diskey, Jr. (Vivian Ruth Ellis), John Raymond Diskey (Peggy), Robert Lee Diskey, Kenneth LeRoy Diskey (Brenda) and Clifford Lennard Diskey; sisters, Anna Louise Diskey Adamson (Delano) and Mary Margaret Diskey; and two grandchildren, Melaine Dawn Tackett Fox and Melissa Tackett.

Friends and family may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.

Visitation will also take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020 in the funeral home prior to funeral services.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Hon officiating.  Burial will follow funeral services in Estates of Serenity Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion-Grant County Humane Society, 505 S. Miller Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kenneth Diskey and Ronnie Adamson for the care and kindness they gave Dad.
