She passed away on October 17, 2020 at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad, Iowa. She graduated from Zearing High School in 1939 and on December 27, 1939 was united in marriage to Charlie Davis of Clemons at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Surviving are her son Danny (Donna) Davis, Marshalltown; daughter Ruth (Larry) Eggers, Milford; Dixie (Dennis) Walters, Conrad; JoDee Davis, Kansas City and special daughter Iola (Robert) Batey, Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Todd Eggers and Greg Smith; great grandchildren Jackson and McKenna Eggers, Amber, Breanna and Dillon Smith; and great great granddaughter Kirra Carson. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Troy Eggers, brothers Luther, Chester and Delmar Couser and sisters Alice Stevens, Lola Davis, Ilo Cozzens and Hazel Thorson and their spouses. Evelyn was a wonderful homemaker and farm wife who had a great sense of humor and a caring nature. She loved music and attending the kids’ programs, ballgames and activities. She was a gracious hostess in her home and enjoyed traveling, sewing and gardening. She thoroughly enjoyed working at the Iowa Veterans Home. With one line, she owned a marvelous ability to sum up a situation. Evelyn came from a long line of sweet, loving, inventive and quick-witted people who kept Jesus at the center of their lives and were a calming, light-hearted force in this world. We thank her and love her with all of our hearts. An angel on earth is now in heaven.            Evelyn’s family wishes to thank the staff at Oakview Nursing Home and Hospice Compassus for their loving commitment to our family.
