Emile Joseph L'Heureux Obituary

There will be a private family mass, by invitation only.

Emile was born on December 12th 1923 to Leon and Mathilda L'Heureux in Denholm, Saskatchewan.   At a young age, Emile was sent to his aunt's due to his mother's passing.  There he attended school at Butte St. Pierre and obtained his Grade 8.  On June 4, 1956, Emile married Marie Emma Laboucane and together they raised 5 boys, while farming in the Westhazel area.  In 1963, wanting to be closer to town, Emile purchased a farm one mile north of St. Walburg.  Shortly after being settled Emile and Emma were blessed with a baby girl.  Emile worked very hard farming and using his excellent carpentry skills to build their new home in 1976.  A few years later, Emile and his wife purchased a restaurant known as the Elite.  Enjoying their business Emile decided it was time to sell the farm and move to town.  When he retired from the Elite, Emile was able to enjoy life even more.  Many summer days were spent picking berries up north with his children or grandchildren, making sure his garden was in tip top shape or sitting on his chair watching either the Jays play baseball or a good curling game in the winter.  Emile was very passionate about carpentry, especially finishing.  All you had to do was show him a picture of what you like and he could build it for you.  In 2013 Emile moved to the Paradise Hill Care Home.  He enjoyed 3 1/2 wonderful years there.  Due to his ailing health, Emile moved into the Lakeland Lodge until his passing on October 15, 2020.  Emile will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Emile was predeceased by: his parents, Leon and Mathilda; his loving wife, Emma; his sons, George, and infant son, Richard; his siblings, Ollie, Henri, Leona, Mariange, and Stella; and his son-in-law, Wayne Stolz.

Emile leaves behind his children, Jerry (Val), Gordon (Norma), Joe (Debbie), Albert (Bonnie), and Marie Helperl; his daughter-in-law, Rhonda Madden; his grandchildren, Nathan, Erica, Tammy (Scott), Tanya (Kevin), Amanda (Shaun), Crystal (Keith), Darcey (Dawn), Kayla (Derek), Stacey (Randy), and Charmayne (Jason); his 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
