Obituary
Jason Paul Glover, 49, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 18, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Jason was born October 2, 1971, in Ogden, Utah, to Don M. Glover and Debby L. Southwick. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School.
After high school, he served on active duty in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Knox, Fort Huachuca, and Fort Wainwright. He also served honorably in the Idaho National Guard.
Jason graduated from Idaho State University with a B.A. in Political Science and later received teaching certificates from ISU. For several years, Jason was a wildland firefighter with the Bureau of Land Management. He was very proud of his service in the BLM, and he fought fires throughout the American West.
For many years, Jason passionately taught 7th Grade World Civ. at Eagle Middle School and was loved by his students. He enthusiastically coached tennis and loved all sports. Jason was also a driver’s education instructor for many years.
More than anything, Jason loved catching fish and exploring new places. Some of his other favorite activities included camping, hunting, shooting, music, watching sports, visiting family, and playing jokes on the people he loved. He was fiercely loyal and valued his family and many friendships.
Jason is survived by his parents, Don M. Glover and Debby L. Southwick of Idaho Falls; brothers, Chad (Carolyn) Glover of Star, ID, Greg (Marta) Glover of Idaho Falls, Brad (Whitney) Glover of Pagosa Springs, CO, Justin Glover of Idaho Falls, and James Glover of Idaho Falls; half-sister, Christa Glover of Casper, WY; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family members that he loved and admired.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald L. and Helen Yvonne Glover and Fred and Joyce Southwick; half-brother, Thomas M. Glover; nephew, Kole Glover; aunt, Cindy Southwick Hayes; uncle, Willis L. Glover; cousin, DJ Southwick; and other cousins.
Jason was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also an Eagle Scout.
A Gathering for family and friends will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2020, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
