DARLENE RACHAEL MOSER – November 5, 1932-October 15, 2020

Darlene Rachael Moser went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 15, 2020 at the age of 88 at Portneuf Medical Center.

Darlene was born on November 5, 1932 in Rupert, Idaho to August and Rosina Greger Vilhauer.

As an adult, she traveled to McIntosh South Dakota with her brother Clifford and that is where she met and married Milbert Moser. They lived outside of McIntosh for the first few years of their marriage and then moved to Rupert, Idaho where they have lived since that time. Darlene and Milbert were married for 66 years.

For many years Darlene and Milbert traveled with their trucks to Nebraska, Oklahoma, and South Dakota to help with custom harvest operations there.  Darlene also drove school bus for 33 years until her retirement.

She was a wonderful cook and continued to prepare many traditional German dishes as part of everyday meals.  She spent a lot of time and care teaching the recipes and methods for these dishes to her two daughters.

Darlene enjoyed crafts and was always knitting or crocheting for others.  She also did a lot of altering and sewing for other people as well as her family.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paul for many years and, at the time of her death, had been attending the Rupert United Methodist Church.  She spent many years serving with the Minidoka Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  This group was originally called the Pink Ladies.

She is survived by her husband, Milbert, daughters Virginia (Jim) Plocher and Tammy (Victor) Bliss, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild (due in October), 5 step grandchildren, and 10 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and all 9 of her siblings:  Alvin Vilhauer, Hulda Kraus, Herman Vilhauer, Agnes Kraus, Lydia Vilhauer, Frieda Bossert, Helen Vilhauer, Irene Blayney, and Clifford Vilhauer.

Services will be Thursday, October 22nd at 2:00p.m.  at the Paul Cemetery Chapel.   Pastor John Ziulkowski will be  officiating. Services are under the direction of Joel Heward  Hansen Mortuary
