Charline J Fleres Hillsborough Township, New Jersey Obituary

Charline J Fleres

Charline "Charlene" Joan Fleres (Ferrara) 70, of Manchester, NJ and former resident of Hillsborough, passed away on October 17, 2020. She was the beloved wife of Santo Fleres with whom she shared almost 48 amazing years of marriage with. Born in Parsippany, NJ on September 4, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ivy Ferrara. She was raised in Parsippany with her five siblings, graduating from Parsippany High School in 1969. She and Santo married on October 21, 1972, living in Parsippany and then Vernon, NJ before settling in Hillsborough, NJ where they raised their two children, Michael and Tina. Charlene held multiple office managerial jobs throughout her career, delighting her son with autographs of sports figures obtained while working at Hertz, and helping to ignite her daughter’s future career in nutrition and wellness while working as the office manager for the world renowned Dr. Joel Furhman. Her greatest passions were her children and later, her grandchildren (& of course dunkin donuts coffee - with a straw!) She was a devoted mother who could be found cheering her children on from the bleachers, encouraging them to do their best, and opening her heart and home to anyone who needed it. She moved to Clemson, SC after retiring but returned to New Jersey for the birth of her second grandchild, trading the sunshine for more frequent cuddles. She loved her grandchildren deeply and leaves behind many treasured memories of her creative games and unfailing interest in every event and milestone. She did not let the pandemic keep her from them, texting and FaceTiming regularly, making special deliveries, participating in her granddaughter’s drive-by kindergarten graduation parade, sending her youngest grandson an early communion gift, and masking up to watch her oldest grandson participate in his first cross-country meet. She will always be remembered for her love of her family and her willingness to serve others. In addition to her devoted husband Santo, she is survived by her two children and their families: Michael Fleres and his wife, Mary, and their son, Christopher, of Allentown, NJ, and Tina Cumiskey and her husband, Brian, and their three children, Declan, Everly, and Bridget, of Meutchen, NJ. She is also survived by her five loving siblings, Ivy, Anita, and Valerie, Denise and Kenny and their spouses, children and numerous extended family members whom she loved all dearly. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Please keep her husband & her family in your thoughts and prayers. A memorial mass will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, October 24th, 2020, at the Mary Mother of God Church, 157 S. Triangle Rd. , Hillsborough, NJ 08844. Burial will follow at Neshanic Cemetery, Hillsborough, NJ 08844
