Katherine Mahaney

Katherine Diana Rose (Boutilier) Mahaney 78, of Fox Point, Nova Scotia, has passed away after a brief period of illness. Family and friends are saddened by her sudden and unexpected death on Thursday, October 15, 2020, in a Bridgewater hospital. Katherine was a daughter of the late Minnie and Wesley Boutilier, of Boutiliers Point. Katherine enjoyed attending social events in her community, including card games, bingo, country music shows, and community meals. She also enjoyed making preserves and attending yard sales. Most of all she enjoyed her time with family and friends, and having a good laugh. Katherine is survived by four adult children, Charmaine (James), Daniel (Joy), Edwina (Paul), and Wanda (Reginald), 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister Mona, brother Eric, many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and Wesley Boutilier, sisters Ella, Vera, Evelyn, Florence, Iona, Lillian, Marion, and Prena, brothers Warren, Murray, and Cyril, two grandchildren, and two beloved Shih Tzu dogs. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
