Cleavetta "Veta" Coleman Jordan Obituary

Cleavetta "Veta" Coleman Jordan

October 14, 1931-Oct 18, 2020

Saluda-On Sunday, October 18th, Mama went home to be with Jesus. Waiting for her was her beloved husband of 40 years Ross Jordan.  She was born in Columbia, SC to the late Vaden and Janie Coleman.  Mama loved her family dearly, cards and calls often came our way and help if needed.  She never met a stranger and if a conversation was started, she would know all about you before it was over. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers were a source of much joy.  She was known for her hugs and you knew you would always get one.  She would say her arms were the strongest thing about her.  Mama will be greatly missed, she is in a wonderful place now, and is Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Red Bank Baptist Church (Saluda) with Pastor John O'Cain officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.  The family requests those in attendance wear masks in accordance with Covid-19 protocols. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th St., Suite 609, New York, NY 10036. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are her daughters, Phyllis Turner of Lexington, Marilyn (Bill) Buchner of Saluda, and Sandy (Terry) Daggerhart of Leesville; step-children, Diana Crump of Lancaster, Alan Jordan of Oakboro, NC, Mark Jordan of Irmo, and Tim Jordan of Lexington; grandchildren, Susie (Dave) Moore of Sumter, Tripp Buchner of Wagener, Bridget (Ted) McNair of Gilbert, Russell (Sara) Daggerhart of Leesville, Carmen Lucas of Leesville; great-grandchildren, Ian and Wyatt Walker, Madison and Scout McNair, Lizzie Williams, Elizabeth Sheppard, Julian Daggerhart, and Ellington Lucas.
