<p>SIMPSON, Richard Lyle &quot;Dick&quot; - Age 89, of Burton, passed away peacefully the evening on October 17, 2020 at the Pines of Goodrich. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road , Swartz Creek. Pastor Bob Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday and from 11 AM until the time of services Thursday.&nbsp; Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Dick was born August 19, 1931 in Flint to Kermit and Thelma (Simerson) Simpson. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. He married Phyllis Scramlin on October 23, 1954. He served faithfully as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and church clerk for well over 30 years at Fenton Road Baptist Church before helping to establish New Road Baptist Church. Dick is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Phyllis Simpson; daughters, Wendy (Mike) Adams of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Teri (Phil) Long of Swartz Creek; granddaughters, Sheri Brennan, Allison (Mike) Walgren of Arizona, Jamie (TJ) Rhynard of Midland; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Weaver and Myrna Simpson; brother, Sonny (Bonnie) Simpson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Sylvia, Mary and Diane; brother, Stanley; granddaughter, Nicole Adams. We would like to thank the staff of the Woodhaven Senior Community and most recently the Pines of Goodrich and Kindred at Home Hospice for their loving care during his last days.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
