Phyllis Audrey Miller Obituary

Phyllis Audrey Walton Miller, 87 of Lewisburg, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at her home in Lewisburg. Born January 5, 1933, at Renick, Greenbrier County, she was the daughter of the late Alpine and Edna Catherine Walton. Mrs. Miller had been a local businesswoman in Greenbrier Valley for more than 60 years. Along with her husband, Clyde, they started the Miller’s Garage that developed into Miller’s Implement, the local John Deere dealership. Later, she developed the first equipment and party rental business in the area. She farmed, was an avid flea marketer, and helped develop several other small businesses. She started Miller’s Country Mall with an antique mall, cheese shop, and bakery center in Maxwelton. Before getting ill, Phyllis sold primitives and antiques at the local flea market, as well as under the Grandstand at the West Virginia State Fair. She was also an active member of Shuck Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Miller; great granddaughter Elle Stevens; four brothers, Elden, Larry, Henry, and Earl Walton; two sisters, Helen McMillion and Juanita Dineen. Survivors include her children, Ronald Miller (Cindy), Catherine Miller, Gregory Miller (Janey). Grandchildren, Audrey Dmello (Percy), Kristen Stevens (Adam), Creighton Miller (Kourtney), Hilary Miller-Handley (CJ), Berkley Miller (Sarah), Gentry Miller (Emily), Allyson Zook (Tony), Holland Miller (Brianna), Peyton Miller, and Trey Miller. Great grandchildren, Emerson Miller, Paige Dmello, Sophie Stevens, Watson Miller, Alice Dmello, Vera Miller; brother, Don Walton; and sister, Sue Wyman (John). Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Morningside Cemetery in Renick, with the Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. At the request of the family, face masks and social distancing in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, will be enforced. In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Miluk Forward Foundation, serving families with pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders at 10 Jimmy Doolittle Drive, Suite B, Greenville, SC 29607.
