Lois L. Engel-Feiock Obituary

Private burial for Lois L. Engel-Feiock, 100, Aberdeen was held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Ipswich. Lois died on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen. Arrangements by Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home. Lois Boll was born prematurely on the cold, winter afternoon of January 24, 1920 to Floyd and Ola (McHenry) Boll in their farmhouse just north of Aurora, KS. Despite her challenging beginnings, she lived a long and storied 100 years bookended by two global pandemics. Lois met the love of her life in Donald Engel, and they welcomed their only child, Donna (Engel) Peterson, into the world in 1942 after they were married and settled in their first home in Minneapolis. They moved to Aberdeen shortly thereafter to raise Donna and start Engel Agency, a local real estate firm. Lois excelled at preparing homes for show. Lois was widowed in 1993 but was swept off her feet again in 2002 by Leo Feiock. They enjoyed twelve wonderful years together before Leo's passing in 2014. Lois' daughter, Donna, passed unexpectedly in 2009, and her family will be forever grateful for Leo's loving companionship during this time. Lois was always active in her community, whether through her cherished time at Christian Women's Club, volunteering to deliver meals and company to those in need through Meals on Wheels, baking sweets and treats for social gatherings or supporting her church. She was rarely found seated, as her creativity and organizational tendencies gave her great satisfaction. Lois was blessed to have a mother and three sisters, Leah, Wanda and Carmen, that she considered her closest friends. She loved them all dearly. She was devoted to her grandchildren and poured her life into them. They miss her immensely. Her Grandchildren wish to recognize and thank the wonderful and caring staff at Bethesda Home who provided such compassionate care and comfort to both Lois and family members during these unprecedented times. Our thoughts continue to be with you. Please help us honor Lois by supporting these community organizations in need by sending a check or money order: Meals on Wheels, 123 South Lincoln Street, Aberdeen, SD 57401. Please send checks made out to Aberdeen Senior Center and indicate this is for Meals on Wheels. Kids Against Hunger, 1121 Olive Drive, Aberdeen, SD 57401. Grateful for having shared in Lois’ life are grandchildren, Ron Peterson, Kathleen (Jon) Zarsky, Ken (Julie) Peterson, great-grandchildren, Emmanuelle, Nicolette, Annalise, Stanis, Gustavo, Luke, Isaac, Hannah, Abigail, Justina and Nolan, great-great-grandson, Brayden, and sister, Carmen Palmer.
