Brendan Matthews

It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Brendan Dominic Matthews announces his sudden passing. Brendan passed away at the White Bay Retirement Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at the age of 64 years. Brendan is predeceased by his parents - Andrew and Marcella Matthews as well as two young brothers - Paul and Roy. Left with fond and loving memories are his two brothers - Gerald and Ronald and sister - Margaret and their families, as well as many nieces and two grand-nieces - Emma and Annabelle. The Matthews family are deeply grateful to the staff of the Baie Verte Peninsula Heath Centre and to Brendan's physician, Dr. Nakaar. Also, deep appreciation extended to the staff of Brendan's previous home, St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St. John's. Finally, the Matthews family wishes to extend sencere thanks to the staff at Foster Funeral Home, particularly to Mr. Mark Foster for his immeasurable patience, compassion and professionalism during this difficult time. Following specific guidelines related to COVID-19, Father Camillus Ekedobe will conduct a Graveside Service at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Cemetery, Baie Verte on Thursday, October 22nd, 2020 at 10:00am. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Brendan's memory to St. Puis X Roman Catholic Church, Baie Verte, NL or a charity of one's choice.
