Mary Louise DeLay

Mary Louise DeLay, 88, of Victor, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. She died at Raleigh General Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on June 20, 1928 (WV Day) on Hawver Road in Hico, WV, the only child of the late Cyral Vestus and Hallie Kathleen Legg Hawver. Louise was a 1947 graduate of Ansted High School. She was the oldest member of Hopewell Baptist Church where she served through the years in such positions as Youth Leader, choir member, AB Women’s Treasurer, and helped with the Christmas program. She worked for a short time at Kroger’s in Ansted, at a bank in Connecticut, and as an aide and cook at Green Acres Nursing Home. Primarily, she spent her life as a homemaker. Louise was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, Southern Gospel music, picnicking, spending time with her family and friends, and going to church. She was loved by many and never met a stranger, with a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She is survived by six children: Billy Kincaid, Karen Wiley, Kenny (Mary) Kincaid, all of Victor, WV, Denny Kincaid of Lookout, WV, Terry Reed of Goldsboro, NC, and Steve (Amy) DeLay of Williamstown, WV; nine grandchildren: Stuart Basham, Donna Standifur, Tammy (Shawn) Ben-Efraim, Melissa (James) White, Denny Patrick Kincaid, Chris (Amy) Reed, Kyler Reed, Ryan DeLay, and Jason DeLay; five great-grandchildren and one on the way, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, William (Wheet) Kincaid, a former husband, Robert Lee DeLay, a son, Bobby Lee Kincaid, and grandsons, Bobby Lee Kincaid, Jr. and Bradley Kincaid. Services will be held at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Ansted, WV. Visitation will be held from noon to 2pm on Friday, May 26, followed by the funeral service at 2pm, officiated by Rev. Mike Anderson and Rev. Steve DeLay. The graveside service will follow at Rest Lawn Memory Gardens at Victor, WV. Online condolences may be sent to wallace&wallacefh.com
