Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for John Merrick Olivier, 92, who passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 9:30 A.M. at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings. Père Rozas from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church New Cemetery in Church Point. The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. until time of services all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited at 1:15 P.M. on Monday in the Funeral Home Chapel. Survivors include one brother, Wilman and wife, Margaret B. Olivier of Lake Charles; several nephews and nieces. Mr. Olivier was preceded in death by his parents, Theogene and Lawrence G. Olivier; two brothers, Wilson and Hilton Olivier; three sisters, Melba Lanclos, Mary Dufille, Ethel Lee DeJean. Mr. Olivier served our Country in the United States Army. He was a Educator both at High Schools and College levels.
