AVERY, Eric – Passed peacefully away on Thursday, October 15th, 2020 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital with his family by his side, following a brief illness, Eric Avery, age 73 years. Predeceased by his parents, Chesley and Clara; brother, Clarence (Beckie); sisters: Millie Avery and Marilyn Randell; brother-in-law, Carl Way; and sister-in-law, Irene Way. Leaving to mourn with beautiful memories, his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Sonia (nee Way); daughter, Kerry Hobden, son-in-law, Doug and granddaughter, Amelia; son, Tony, partner Stacey Burgess and grandsons, Jacob and Joshua; son, Adam, daughter-in-law, Angela, grandson William and granddaughter Isabell. Also leaving to mourn, brothers-in-law: Terry Way (partner, Sheila)(NB), Ron Randell; step brother-in-law: Baxter Vincent (Violet); sister-in-law, Julie Way; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends – including life-long friends Gordon and Marilyn Ford. A retiree from the NL Telephone Company, Eric was a volunteer with the Bell Aliant Pioneers, and a long-time volunteer with VOWR Radio Station.
