Mason William Bennett Obituary

Mason William Bennett, age 87, of Corning NY died Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Corning Center.  

He was born May 16, 1933 in Sayre PA, one of 12 children of Leon and Mildred (Huffman) Bennett.   

Mason and Bonnie M. (Abbey) Bennett married on June 25, 1960 at the First Methodist Church in Corning. 

He was a U.S. veteran serving in the Navy from 1956-1960.  

Mason was a retired machinist from Westinghouse in Horseheads, NY.  

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a Mason with the Corning Painted Post Lodge #168 F.& A.M.  

Mason is survived by his Wife, Bonnie M. Bennett of Corning; Children, Randy W. Bennett of NC and Corinne E. (Clayburn) Miille of Corning; Brothers, Albert Bennett of FL, James (Linda) Bennett of FL and Dale (Lynn) Bennett of PA; Sister, Dorothy Chaffin of FL; Grandchildren, Alea Bennett, Payton and Lena Miille; Brother-in-law, Keith (Patricia) Abbey of NC and Jerome Kipp of PA; Sister-in-law, Doris Bennett of Waverly, NY, Sandy Bennett of MO, Renee (Martin) Cohen of Rochester, NY; several nieces and nephews; special former exchange students; Samuel Dag, Simon Dag, Madlin Dag, Ender Dag, Emanuel Dag, Guido Beck and Jean-Luc Van Nerum.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Wesley, Betty, Thomas, Richard, Melvin, Anna, and Robert.  

The family would like to thank Corning Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing for their love and care for Mason over the past 3 years, even after his passing. Although we could not be with him, we take comfort knowing you were and he was not alone. 

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Coopers Cemetery.
