Fred James Breneman

Fred James Breneman passed away May 23, 2017 at his home in Nampa, Idaho. He was born to Fred Breneman and Violet Emma Stockfish August 23, 1924, in San Bernardino, CA. He was the 2nd of 4 siblings. He grew up in California during the Depression in a family with very little. He married Beverly Smart on May 21, 1944. They celebrated 73 years together. They met when Fred tagged along with some Military buddies that were going to meet up with Bev and her friends…they were forever together…she was so happy to finally have a boyfriend who was taller than her 5’9”! Fred completed High School and went into the Navy at 17. He served in WWII and Korea as a Parachute Rigger. He lived in California, Arizona and Missouri before settling in Idaho in 1967. He hadn’t been on a plane since the wars when he went on the Honor Flight with his Fellow Veteran’s to Washing DC a few summer’s ago. Fred was a volunteer at the Warhawk Air Museum. He spent hundreds of hours there over the past several years. Fred belonged to the LDS church. He served 2 Stake Missions, served as an executive secretary to his Bishop, taught Scouts and was still teaching Primary when he passed. His class loved “Brother Breneman, grandpa”. For years he carried candies in his pockets to give to the kids at Church. He is survived by his wife Beverly and their daughter “Kathie”, four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren. There will be a viewing at Zeyer Funeral Chapel Tuesday May 30, 2017 at 83 N. Midland Nampa, Idaho from 6pm-8pm. All of his family will be there to meet with you. His Military Honors service will be Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 1pm at the Rock Shelter at the Idaho State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boise. All are invited.
