Joy V. Byrd, 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family,her happiness was loving all of those close to her. She was so full of life and left smiles everywhere she went. If anyone needed anything, if she was able she would be there for them. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Artis Byrd; and her father, Josh Vanosdol. She is survived by a daughter, Michelle (Justin) Schell of Elberta, AL; two sons, Dion (Greta) Byrd of Laurel, Jason (Deanna) Byrd of Richton; her mother, Jettie Vanosdol of Clara, two brothers, Johnny Vanosdol of Clara, Ellis (Jolene) Vanosdol of Clara; four sisters, Nell Lott of Beaumont, Shirley (Robert) Maxcey of Laurel, Dee (Eugene) Butler of Buckatunna, Myrtle (Danny) Walters of Calhoun; six grandchildren, Britni (Steve) Cole, Stone (Ashley) Ware, Haley Byrd, Colton Byrd, Sarah (Brandon) Herrington, Emily (Brandon) Branning; and very much loved great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
