JOPLIN, MISSOURI: Delores Rose Rowan, age 86, passed from this life at 1:25 am, Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO after a brief illness. Delores was born January 4, 1934 in St Louis, MO. Her parents were Auman and Mamie (Lewellyn) Medley. She moved to the area in 1944. Delores worked many years in retail sales in the Joplin area retiring from WalMart in 1999. She then began working part time at the Jefferson Elementary School library. She was a member of the Galena Assembly of God. Her hobbies included flowers, needlework, and reading. She was an avid cardinal baseball fan. She is survived by her children, Sandi Sapp, Joplin and Mark (wife, Julie) Rowan, Carl Junction, MO; grandchildren, Andrea (husband, Franklin) Queen, Joplin and Kyle (wife, Kate) Rowan, Kansas City, KS; great-grandchildren, Franklin Queen III, and Jackson Queen, Joplin; siblings, Wayne Medley, Joplin, Robert Medley, Joplin, and Clifford Medley, Galena. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Louise Crockwell, Betty Clark, Norma Smith, and Auman Medley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, Monday, October 19, 2020 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS. Doug Lawson will officiate.
