Mr. Dexter Mickens

<p><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><em><strong>Dexter &quot; Mr. Who&quot; Mickens </strong></em></span></span>transitioned on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at his home in Yorktown, Virginia. Dexter was born a Virginia Native to Ruby and Eligah Mickens, but Dexter was a true Blue Devil at Heart.&nbsp;Dexter graduated from East Millbrook High School in Raleigh, North Carolina and later attended Alumni Central University.&nbsp; He devoted 15 years of service at Design Essentials along with his business partner Daryl Cooper.&nbsp; His notoriety was found in the cosmetology industry, interior design, photography and marketing management.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Dexter is survived by his loving parents, Ruby Wilson Mickens of Hampton, Virginia and Elijah Mickens, of Hartsville, South Carolina; his Godmother, Celestine Anderson, of Hampton, VA;&nbsp;five caring children, Devin Mickens (Arecia), of Fort Washington, MD; Danelle Mickens, of Yorktown, VA; Cherelle Loggins (Deionn), of Dallas, TX; Gabrielle M. Mickens, of Hampton, VA and Gyft Washington, of Richmond, VA. Five devoted siblings, Daryl Mickens, of Newport News, VA; Karen Mickens, of Hampton, VA; Eric Mickens, Sr., of Hampton, VA; Adrian Mickens, of Charleston, SC and Quincy Mickens, of Charlotte, NC.&nbsp; Dexter will be missed by all who knew and loved him.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><em><strong>Rest in Peace Dexter AKA &quot;Mr. Who.&quot;</strong></em></span></span><br /> &nbsp;</p> <p>Viewing for Mr. Mickens will be held from 1:00p.m.&nbsp;until 5:00 p.m.. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Services for Mr. Mickens will be &nbsp;at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel,&nbsp;&nbsp;Rd. Hampton, VA.&nbsp;by Dr. Christopher C. Dexter " Mr. Who" Mickens transitioned on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at his home in Yorktown, Virginia.
