<p>Opelousas– A Mass of Christian Burial for Elsie Venable will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Fr. Gregory Simien will celebrate the mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.</p> <p>Elise, age 90, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family.</p> <p>Elsie was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.</p> <p>She is survived by her sons, Richard “Ricky” Venable and his wife, Jerri of Opelousas, Dalbert “Brother” Venable, Jr., of Washington, Larry Venable of Arnaudville, and Christopher “Chris” Venable of Opelousas, grandchildren, Nicholas “Nick” Venable and his wife, Amanda, Adam Venable, Stacie Pitre and her husband, Ronnie, Colby Venable, Britney Speyrer and her husband, Alex, Jennifer Venable, Spencer Venable, Keisha Venable, and Tyler Trahan, great grandchildren, Ronnie Pitre, III, Camryn Pitre, Logan Venable, Avery Venable, Cooper Venable, Liam Speyrer, Marshayla Williams, Trinity Johnson, Lai’lonnie Johnson, and Scotti Venable.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalbert Venable, Sr., parents, Hobson and Minnie Brown, brothers, Earl Brown and his wife, Lois, and Curtis Brown and his wife, Jerry.</p> <p>Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. until time of service in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas.
