Dennis C. Kuntzi, 69, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020, at Veterans Administration Central Iowa Health Care in Des Moines, IA.

Inurnment, with military honors, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2021, at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Denny's family and arrangements.

Denny was born December 9, 1950, in Mendota, IL, the son of Charles Junior and Mary Katherine Sojat Kuntzi.

He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1970 to 1971. He received the Soldiers Medal for Heroism and The Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations Against Hostile Forces.

He had worked as a security guard and was a DJ.

Those left to honor and cherish Denny's memory include his daughters, Dena (John) Walker and Danielle Kuntzi both of Valley, AL; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Sarah) Kuntzi, Mike (Sherry) Kuntzi, Chuck (Nancy) Kuntzi and Jim (Donna) Kuntzi; sisters, Kathy Gregory, Charla (Jerry) Sheridan, Sue Ray and Deb (Paul Magnuson) Kuntzi.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Marsha Kuntzi, Mary Gould and Carol Amfahr.
