Celia Gay Rice
Vansant, VA- Celia Gay Stiltner Rice, of Buchanan County, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 15, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Born September 14, 1961, Celia was 59 years old and spent her life being a house wife and a wonderful mother to her children. She was very proud of her children and would show them off at every opportunity. One of the best achievements of her life were her five grandchildren that called her mawmaw. Celia was an extraordinary person that loved her family beyond measure. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hartford E. and Flornie D. Stiltner, brothers, John and James Robert Stiltner, nephew, Jonathan Stiltner and adopted sister, Goldie Lewis. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Roy Rice of Vansant, a daughter, Jessica Matney-Hensley (Glenn), sons, Paul (Toni) Stacy and Jacob Rice, a granddaughter, Savanna Matney, grandsons, Tyler Matney, Jeremiah and Kamron Hensley and Hayden Stacy, fur baby, Peaches, brothers, Lewis (Jeanne) Stiltner, Marty Stiltner, Bernard (Cheryl) Stiltner, Bucky Stiltner and Henry Stiltner, sisters, Phoebe (Keler) Viars, Goldie Stiltner (Fiance’ Tony Bailey), Rosie (Russell) Scott and Billie (Farley) Sykes and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2020 at Haysi Funeral Home with C.J. Stacy and Joe Conn officiating. Burial will follow in Stiltner Cemetery, Oakwood, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ramona Boyd FNP, Becky Case RN and Legacy Hospice.
