Gene Simpson
<p>Gene Simpson, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020. He was born on April 26, 1938, in Gainsboro, Arkansas. Gene was a member of the Charlotte Church of Christ. Gene never met a stranger a day in his life, he just loved people. He was an insurance salesman for over 40 years, an avid collector of vintage items, a cattle farmer, and a lover of food, especially from The Bulldog, his favorite restaurant in Bald Knob. Above all Gene loved his family, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished by those who love him.</p> <p> </p> <p>Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Justina Simpson; brother, Hubert Simpson; and sister, Pearl Lockamy. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patsy Simpson; sisters, Betty Daniel, Marie Hix, and Bertha Rounds; son, Greg Simpson (Sheila); daughter, Gayla Simpson Hopson; grandchildren, Brittani McClurg (Jim), Landon Austin, and Lauren Smith; and great-grandchildren, Corbin, and Emerson McClurg.</p> <p> </p> <p>Pallbearers are Greg Simpson, Jim McClurg, Landon Austin, D.J. Bellomy, Chuck Hix, and David Rounds. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Lee’s Chapel on White Drive with brother Chuck Crow officiating.</p> <p> </p> <p>Please be advised, Covid precautions will be in place and a mask must be worn.</p>Obituary
