Mildred Moore

MILDRED ELIZABETH MOORE (nee Winterburn) February 13, 1917 - October 12, 2020 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother and nanny, Mildred Elizabeth Moore on October 12, 2020 at Mont St. Joseph Home in Prince Albert, SK. at the age of 103. Mildred was born in Lucky Lake to Herbert and Annie Winterburn. She attended a one room school called Gumbo Flat. Due to the severe dryness on the prairie in the 1930`s her parents bought a farm in 1934 further north in the Whitfield district just northwest of Prince Albert. It was here that she met her future husband Bliss. After a four-year courtship they were married, and they settled in Prince Albert. Mildred was a very kind and caring person who loved her family dearly and she was always busy with family and church activities. She loved playing cards, fishing, camping, playing horseshoe, both ally and carpet bowling and golfing. She enjoyed watching curling. Mildred has been an active member of First Baptist Church for over 80 years. After Bliss retired, they spent over 20 years wintering in Arizona. It was here that she started playing outdoor shuffleboard and many other activities. Mildred enjoyed travelling and she and Bliss visited all provinces in Canada, many states, Alaska, and Europe and even enjoyed a Caribbean cruise. They were very blessed to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with family & friends. Mildred will be greatly missed by her loving daughters Ellen Ewert and Florence (Ed) Drangsholt. She is also survived by three grandchildren Gwen (Grant) Wiltse, David (Charlene) Miller, and Susan (Bruce) Wasylak. 12 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great grandsons.
