<p>Arthur Sigvard Olson was born June 17, 1944 to Arvid and Esther (Franzen) Olson. The youngest of 6 children. He grew up on the family farm just outside of Sturgis. He attended Mannanah School from grades one to three, then he took the bus to Sturgis until he graduated grade twelve. He then ventured to Regina and went to the University of Regina for one year studying Agriculture. Deciding university wasn&rsquo;t for him he came home and went to work at the CO-OP in Foam Lake as a meat cutter.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; After a few years he came home to work in Preeceville at Reitlo&rsquo;s store. He worked there for many years before moving to Stenen and opening his own store and meat shop. He kept the store in Stenen for a few years before buying the Red &amp; White store in Sturgis. He worked there until he retired. All the while in the grocery business he still farmed with his brother at the family farm. Working in the store in the morning and farming in the afternoon. He did that until they sold the land.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He married Donna Lee (Johnson) on October 12, 1968. They have one daughter Twyla. Art sadly lost his wife in 2013. He remained in Stenen until his health declined and then moved to Long Term Care in Preeceville.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; After retiring Art could be found drinking coffee at the local coffee shops or driving around checking how the crops were doing. Art enjoyed the farm, fishing, reading, music, and above all his family. He might not have said a lot, but you could always tell he was happiest around people.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He is predeceased by his parents, Esther and Arvid Olson; wife Donna Lee; Sisters Ardis Arneson, Elsa Turek; brother Alfred Olson, brother-in-law Norman Arneson, Stan Turek, George Kemp; sister-in-law Patricia Olson.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Survived by his loving daughter Twyla, grandson Jesse Hort, sisters Anne Kemp, Cecilia (David) Larson, numerous nieces, nephews and many extended family members.</p>
