Ruth Masters Chandler

Ruth Masters Chandler, 96, the widow of Carl Chandler, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 23, 2017 at The Terrace in Berea. A former resident of Newby, Ruth was born in Madison County on September 30, 1920, to the late Joseph Henry and Zeffie M. Perkins Masters. She was a homemaker and was a member of The Newby Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Forest Masters, Garnett Masters, Sue Cates, Ether B. Lackey, Robert M. “Scrub” Masters, Edna Clark and William C. “Duff” Masters. In addition she was preceded in death by her nephews: Ralph Masters, Shelby Joe Masters and Carson Masters; and nieces: Norvaline Hale, Henrietta Moberly, Roberta Prewitt and Patricia Broaddus. Survivors include a nephew: Gary Clark (Sharon) and nieces: Helen Thompson, Brenda Fowler (Kenneth) and Joan Gray (Broaddus) as well as several great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Guiley officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Terry Gortney, Joe Masters, Mike Masters, Michael Chandler, Jack Newland, Danny Allen, Larry Prewitt and David Prewitt. www.cpcfh.com
