Julieta Lopes Gomes

Julieta Lopes Gomes, age 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Long Branch, New Jersey. She was born on April 1, 1945 in Setubal, Portugal to parents Joao Domingos Lopes & Julia Soares Lopes. She is survived by her husband, Carlos A. Gomes, two children, Paulo A. Gomes & Linda Gomes Ponsi, son-in-law Adam Ponsi, her sister & brother-in-law Maria Luisa Velez and Humberto Velez, and her grandchildren, Dylan Gomes, Julianna Ponsi, and David Aberant. Julieta Gomes was a simple and loving woman who lived for her family. She was a devoted wife and loving mom who gave everything to her children for their happiness. She loved to spend time with her family. Nothing made her happier than when we gathered as a family and she was able to play with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her fun and silly sense of humor, her incredible optimism, her ability to out dance anyone on the dance floor, and her delicious vegetable soup. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Monday, October 19, 2020 at Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch, NJ. A religious service will be held at the funeral home at 12:00 PM followed by the burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery in West Long Branch, NJ. The Gomes family would like visitors to observe social distancing and face coverings must be worn. There is a limit as to the number of people allowed in the funeral home during visiting hours.
