Wanda May Azelton

AZELTON, Wanda May - Age 87, of  Lapeer formerly of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday October 13, 2020. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday October 19 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 S. Ballenger Hwy, Flint. Pastor Brent Engle officiating and Deacon Bill Storm co-officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 4PM- 8PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held 10AM until time of service at the church.Those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society.  Wanda was born November 14, 1932 in  Midland, the daughter of Glenn and Mary (Gandy) Hoover. She married Ronal Azelton on May 31, 1960 and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1997. Wanda graduated from Beaverton High School, Beaverton MI class of 1951. She worked for St. Paul Lutheran Church as the church secretary for many years. Mrs. Azelton was a member of UAW 1292, St. Paul Lutheran Church and a volunteer for the Salvation Army.  Wanda enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband, and a member of the Happy Travelers Club. Surviving are: son, Christopher (Yolanda) Azelton of Lapeer; grandson's, Andrew Azelton of Lapeer, Tommy Judd of Lapeer; granddaughter, Holly (Colin) Houston of Hazel Park and great grandchildren, Melanie and Matthew Love. She was also survived by her sister, Sandra (Beryl) Sedrick of Grand Blanc; six nieces and seven nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronal; son, Brian Azelton; grandson, Larry Judd; her natural father Glenn Hoover, step-father LaVerne Hillis; mother, Mary Hillis; brother, Gary Hoover; sister's, Beatrice Boyd, Laurie Hillis.
