Doreen Howry, 61, passed away at home in Toledo, OR. She was born in Newport, OR to Doug and Mary Simmons. Doreen graduated Toledo High School in 1977, during high school she enjoyed cheerleading and served a year as a Toledo Summer Festival Queen.

Doreen married Jon Howry on June 22, 2001 in Toledo, OR. Doreen has 4 sons 2 John’s and 2 Joe’s; Joe Boyd (Lisa), John Boyd (Alli), Jon Howry (Jessie) and Joe Howry (Shonna).

Doreen was a lifelong resident of Toledo, OR. She became an avid volunteer for the Summer Festival for many years. She also volunteered for Mrs. Clause, MT. Baber ATV and Toledo Boosters. Doreen was also a member of the Toledo Elks and served as their Chaplain. Doreen served a long career in the banking industry. Later, she began working for the Siletz Charter School serving meals to children.

Doreen’s hobbies were Volunteering, camping, riding 4-wheelers, traveling and spending time with family.

Doreen is survived by her husband Jon Howry of Toledo, OR and her two sisters Tammy Warfield (Scott) and Sylvia Aleckson (Steve) both of Toledo, OR one brother Terry Simmons of Yachats, OR. Four sons, Joe Boyd, John Boyd, Jon Howry, Joe Howry seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Doreen is preceded in death by her parents Doug Simmons and Mary Simmons.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Doreen held at the Toledo Elks Park in Siletz on Saturday, October 10th at 1PM. All family and friends invited.
