ANNA BLANCHE (KASSEN) MCCLELLAN Anna Blanche (Kassen) McClellan, 81, of Phoenix, AZ, died peacefully Saturday at LivGenerations Ahwatukee in Phoenix surrounded by all of her children. She was born in Carrollton, MO, but lived all over the U.S. and in Germany as the spouse of a U.S. Air Force officer. Anna worked as an administrative assistant and office manager for a travel agency in Germany, then Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State) University in Kirksville, MO, the U.S. Navy in Oakland, CA, and ending up at Pipe Shields, Inc., in Vacaville, CA. She moved to Phoenix in 1999 where she has resided since. Anna loved to travel (she visited more than 40 countries) and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a lifelong Roman Catholic and most recently belonged to St. Benedict Parish in Phoenix. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill McClellan, and her siblings, Frances Kassen, Evelyn Kressig, Susie Kuhn, Jack Kassen, and John Martin Kassen. Anna is survived by her five children, Tony (Henderson, NV), Mark (Phoenix), Kenny (Wichita, KS), John (Dahlonega, GA), and Kathy (Cook) (Charleston, SC); 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Lock (Carrollton, MO); and one brother, Bill Kassen (Dallas, TX). Rosary and visitation will be held at 4-6 pm Thursday (10/15/2020) at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Home in Mesa, and a funeral Mass will be held at 11 am Friday (10/16/2020) at St. Benedict’s in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (for Parkinson’s), www.michaeljfox.org. Anna, who was very loving, kind, and generous, will be greatly missed by all. May she rest in peace. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
