Charlene Dorsey Obituary

Charlene Dorsey was born February 11, 1928, to the union of JD and Florence Harris in Trimble Missouri.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Leo Dorsey, her parents, Camelia Littles (Daughter), Ivan Dorsey (Son), Leander Dorsey Son).

She was a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ for over 50 years.  She sang in the Senior and Mass choirs. Charlene was a very social person and was a member of Club Chazzlites, where she worked with other great women doing community projects and fundraising for good causes.  Of all the various jobs she held, the one dearest to her heart was that of raising her children.  Charlene departed this life on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Monterey Park Nursing Home in Independence MO. She leaves to treasure her memory: One son, Sherman R. Dorsey; Four daughters, Constance M. Dorsey, Kathleen J. Dorsey, Lisa A. Dorsey, and Cassandra Harris all of Kansas City MO. One brother, Ralph Harris of Denver Co; Two sisters, Marjorie Jackson and Patricia Ponder (Johnnie); 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.  The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 16, 2020, at New Beginnings Apostolic Church. 200 N. Bales Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64123. Visitation 10:00 AM. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery.
