It is with broken hearts that the family of the late CHARLES JOSEPH WHIFFEN of Rushoon announces his passing. Charles passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center in Burin on Monday, October 12th, 2020 at the age of 74. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his son, Darren Whiffen (Jillian) and two grand-daughters, Bella & Baylin living in Florida, U.S; brothers, Herbert Whiffen (Sheila Butler) of Rushoon, and Gregory Whiffen (Melvenia) of Rushoon; sisters, Ellen Theresa Cheeseman of Jersey Side Placentia, Jessie Hynes of Mt. Pearl, Sarah Skiba of New Jersey, U.S, Anne Murphy of Rushoon, Mary Burghardt of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and Dorothy Stewart (George) of Rushoon; all his friends at the Marystown Retirement Centre; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Charles was predeceased by his parents, Sarah and Herbert Whiffen; sisters, Gladys Dicks, and Frances Whiffen; brothers-in-law, Charles Dicks, Leonard Cheeseman, Greg Hynes, Walter Skiba, Frank Murphy, and Jack Burghardt.

Funeral Mass will take place following cremation at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, Rushoon on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Christ The King Roman Catholic Cemetery, Rushoon.
