Herbert Bartley, 81, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA and native of Morgan City, LA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 13, 2020 at 10:35 AM at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, LA. 

A public viewing will be conducted from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Friday October 16, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home 715 Sixth Street Morgan City, LA. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing). A graveside service will be held on Friday October 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Morgan City Cemetery with Pastor Norman A Stovall, officiating. Services will be accessible by viewing the Jones Funeral Home, Inc. Facebook Page at 8:00 AM for visitation and 11:00 AM for graveside services on Friday October 16, 2020.

Memories of Herbert will forever remain in the hearts of: his daughter, Trinette Jones of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Caleb and Cameron Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA and Carah Johnson of San Francisco, CA; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ahmad and Aria Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA; his sisters, Ruby B. Sanchez and Celia B. Clark of Baton Rouge, LA, Audrey B. Merchant and husband, Roland of Toluca Lake, CA, Gloria B. Moultrie and husband, Calhoun of New Orleans, LA, Lorraine Bartley of Toledo, OH, and Laura B. Marshall of Morgan City, LA; a brother, Frank Bartley III and wife, Janice of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude P. Bartley and Brenda H. Bartley both of Morgan City, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, his godchildren, Lenora Renee' Sheldon and Saige Wilcox; other relatives, and friends.

Herbert was preceded in death by: his parents Frank Bartley Jr. and Hazel Smith Bartley; his daughter, Tyra Johnson; two sisters, Jacqueline Bartley and Melinda B. Martin; two brothers, Huey L. Bartley and Melvin Bartley; four brothers-in-law, Arvel C. Marshall, Murphy G. Sanchez, Thornton Clark, and Lawrence H. Martin; a niece, Adriane M. Bartley; a nephew, Thornton Clark, Jr., and nephew-in-law, Christopher Hollins.
