James Raymond Richburg, Sr.

MANNING – James Raymond Richburg, Sr., 73, husband of Frances Tora Ardis Richburg, died Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at his home. Born September 24, 1947, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Coleman Levi Richburg and the late Vermell Lizzie Dennis Richburg. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He is survived by his wife of Manning; eight children, Frances L. Dantzler, Rev. John Matthews (Cindy), Portia Floyd (Bert), Christopher Matthews (Donna), all of Manning, Christine Garbett (Jim) of Tomah, WI, Racheal Lynn Powell of Manning, James Richburg, Jr. (Shannon) of Brevard, NC and Marion Richburg (Anna) of Manning; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; five brothers, Paul Richburg (Sara), Lavern Richburg (Ruby), James Richburg (Tammy), Lynwood Richburg and David Richburg, all of Manning; a sister, Edith Holladay (Wayne) of Manning; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Carl Antonio Matthews; a granddaughter, Amanda Benton; and two brothers, Levi Richburg and Johnny Richburg. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Cornerstone Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. John Matthews officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. at the church and other times at the residence, 1461 Calumet Drive, Manning. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church, 2116 Greeleyville Highway, Manning, SC 29102. Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory, 304 N.
