Winn – Edward J. Pelkey, 68, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at a Bangor hospital. He was born November 8, 1951 in Lincoln, the son of William and Marilyn (Miller) Pelkey. Edward grew up in Winn, and was a graduate of Lee Academy, class of 1971. He worked at Great Northern Paper Company for 40 years, retiring in 2014. He enjoyed driving for Penquis in recent years. Summers were always enjoyed at his camp on Madagascal Lake in Burlington. Edward loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was very proud of his family and spent as much time with them as he could. Edward is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosanne (Perkins) Pelkey; a daughter, Jill Desmarais and her husband Phil; a son, Joe Pelkey and his wife Anne; four grandchildren, Raegan and Taryn Budge, and Daniel and Sarah Pelkey; three step grandchildren, Zach, Brendon, Skyler Desmarais; a sister, Susan Roarks and her husband Jim; sisters in law, Beth Pelkey, Christine Gordon, Roxanne Greenleaf and her husband James, Kim Rutty and her husband Rob, and Patti Williams and her husband Bruce; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by a brother, Steve Pelkey, and a sister, Mary Twist. Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel, Lincoln.
