Janet L Matthews

Janet L. Matthews 75, of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Sunday October 11, 2020. She was born in Lamesa, Texas on December 18, 1944. Janet graduated from Lamesa high school and then attended South Pains College. She married her best friend James Matthews on July 24, 1963 in Lamesa, Texas. Janet worked as a training manager for Wells Fargo. She was a member of the Hill Country Bicycling Tour Club and has a passion for all things to do with cycling/mountain biking. She is survived by her husband James Matthews, and daughters Tiffiny Huneke, and Rene’ Matthews. She has 3 wonderful grandchildren Hope Huneke, Taylor Shipley, and TJ Matthews. Her brothers and sisters are Dale Scott, the late Gay Shofner, and Butch Scott. Funeral arrangements will be held at 10:00 AM on October 17, 2020 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
