Corey: Robert Samuel Corey, 89 age, of Swift Current, Sk., passed away October 9, 2020 at Cypress Regional Hospital. The Private Graveside service was held at 2:00 pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Chaplain Bob Cappelle officiating. The Life Tribute was given by Rosanne Corey. Honorary Pallbearers were Gale Nerada, Bayne Gillanders, Dawson Corey and Grant Carter. The Interment Service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Bob is survived by his son Jerome (Shirley) Corey of Cantuar, Sk; daughters Angela (Gale) Nerada of Cantuar, Sk; Marlene (Bayne) Gillanders of Kyle, Sk.; Rosanne Corey of Calgary, Ab and Caroline (Grant) Carter of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren Dawson (Shanda) and Delaine Corey; Cory (Tracey) Nerada, Dieter, Brienna, Brooklyn and Britannia Gillanders, Alexander, Declan, Cole, Brynn Carter; great grandchild; Dylan Corey; sisters; Elsie Selanders and Lottie Maalerud; sister-in-law Rita Corey; special nephew Lawrence Watson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Irene Corey in 2016; his parents Samuel and Ruth Corey; brothers Tom and Ernie Corey and sister Dellice Hochlander. Robert was born on May 12, 1931 in Swift Current, Sk. He attended school in Beverley. Robert was married to Irene Isabelle Hanson on June 25, 1954 at the United Church in Swift Current. Robert worked at various job starting with the PFRA at the Webb Community Pasture checking cattle and then drove a gravel truck for Harry Wiebe. Following this he worked at the Rabbit Plant near Beverley, Reeds Oilfield Service operating a steam truck, for Charlie Seemans Service, and also a full time farmer. What he loved to do most was cutting and baling hay, where he was known as "Baler Bob" or "Hay King". Robert also had the family background of raising his own cattle. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and truck town coffee group. He loved reading the Booster, driving around the country side and going to the post office to pick up his mail. A Prayer for Dad. Dear God, I gratefully thank you for giving us our Dad. You must really have loved us cause you gave the best you had. Watch over him and bless him Lord, and keep him in your care and may he fell our love for him, is our humble heartfelt prayer. Robert will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. In his memory, memorial donations may be made to the Swift Current S.P.C.A. or the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.
