Sgt. John S. McCormick, Sr, age 84, passed away on Oct 7, 2020.

John was proceeded in death by his father, Norah (Buddy), and his mothers, Daisy, Retha.  John is survived by his wife (Mable McCormick) and their five children: four daughters, Debbie McCormick of Ann Arbor, Valiesa Patillo of Ypsilanti, Linda Winfrey of Arlington, VA, and Kim. McCormick of Belleville, and one son, John Jr. McCormick of Ypsilanti; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson. Also, he is survived by four sisters and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Aside from his family, John’s greatest devotion was to the military. he served honorable in the Air Forces.  John’s experience in the Air Forces played an important role in his life.  He often pointed out that his experience in the Air Force taught him the value of discipline, teamwork, and investing in a cause larger than himself.

John loved to talk about his travels around the world.  His hobbies included cooking, fishing and entertaining.
