James LeRoy McCune, age 73, of Highwood, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Aperion C are Highwood surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 21, 1944 in Tacoma, Washington to George and Violet Velma (Pennick) McCune. He met his current wife, Linda Valerie Watry in 1998 and they were married on December 10, 2005. They resided in Chicago for the duration of their marriage. James was a Dental Service Technician and owned his own business J.L McCune Co. He spent his life dedicated to his work. James loved all animals, playing golf and had a passion for old cars. His humor and storytelling kept everyone laughing, and will surely be missed. He is survived by his wife Linda; three daughters, Laura McCune, Tracy (Brian) Randle, Jennifer (Perry) Hansen; a step-daughter, Jennifer (George) Justice; seven grandchildren; a brother, George McCune; and five sisters, Betty, Bernice, Ruthie, Laurie and Virginia; and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, JoAnne and Mamie. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 10 am until the 12 noon funeral service at Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove, IL 60081.
