Samuel “Sam” Glen Tweedle

February 19, 1948 – October 10, 2020

It is with heavy hearts, yet with certain relief that we announce the passing of Samuel Tweedle of Edson, formerly of Lindale.

On the afternoon of Saturday, October 10, 2020, with his loving wife at his side, Sam was freed from his pain and was welcomed with open arms by his Lord and Saviour.   

Sam had a tremendous love for the road trips he and Ethel were blessed to travel; with Alaska and the Yukon at the top of the list, children of all ages, nature; especially his back yard where he could see the birds and be amused by the squirrels, “them talks” and more than anything, his family. 

"Well done, good and faithful servant."

Sam will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Ethel; children, James Allan (Jaelene) Tweedle and Carmen Joy Tweedle; grandchildren, Bryan, Mackenzie, Morgan and Carson; brother, Arthur, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  

He is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Cora; siblings, Dorothy, Edward, Ross, Wes, Roy, Clarence and Steve.   

For those wishing to pay their respects to Sam, a time of visitation will be held at Affinity Funeral Service, 5137 50 Avenue, Drayton Valley on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

A Graveside service will be held at North End Cemetery, Township Road 500, Lindale on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Dwayne Henley officiating.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Zdrill, Marilyn Oishi, the staff at homecare for your thoughtfulness and loving support and to all our friends and neighbours who helped during this trying time. Sam appreciated you all.
