Jerome H Bonner Chicago, Illinois Obituary

Jerome H Bonner

Jerome Bonner, better known as “J.B.”, was born to the union of Archie and Katherine Bonner on October 9, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois. Both parents preceded him in death. J.B accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at St. Thaddeus Church at a young age. He attended Drew School from Kindergarten to second grade. With great anticipation, St. Thaddeus finally opened the year he attended third grade. His eighth grade class was the first to graduate from the new school in 1971. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1975 in which he would happily tell anyone who asked, that his school was the greatest school with the best football team in Chicago. His education continued at Coyne Institute of Technology in 1982 where he excelled in Electrical Engineering earning an Industrial Electronics Certification. Network Multifamily Security Corporation hired J.B. as a commercial, home surveillance, and burglar alarm installer. He later became an entrepreneur and Bonner Security Systems was born. J.B. was a very giving employer and hired lots of his friends whenever they needed employment. J.B. married his lifelong friend Sheila, in 1988 and from that union two beautiful daughters were born. He loved his family, enjoyed cookouts, and had a sense of humor like no other. He was crazy about his grandsons, who affectionately called him Daboo, especially since he didn’t have boys of his own. J.B. enjoyed watching cooking shows; always excited to learn new techniques, and could tell you all good places to go if you were hungry. He used to call himself the “Grill Master” and enjoyed pulling the grill out during any season. J.B. departed this earthly life on Monday morning, May 22nd at 1:26 A.M. at Holy Cross Hospital after a long battle with health issues. He leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Keshia (Alfonzo) LeFlore, and Patrice Bonner; grandsons, Avantae, and Amare LeFlore; brother, Michael Bonner; lifelong companion, Sheila Bonner; and a host of other relatives and friends.
