Susan M. (Branam) Zorza

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP, MI – Susan M. (Branam) Zorza, age 71, of Chocolay Township, passed away Saturday evening, October 10, 2020, in the care of Norlite Nursing Center staff, of natural causes. She is now in the arms of her daughter Jackie Sue. Sue was born July 14,1949 the first born of Lonnie R. and Eileen M. (LaChappelle) Branam. Sue lived in the Watson/Arnold area for the last 30 plus years. Sue was a wonderful cook, loved feeding the wildlife and birds. If she could be outside she was in her happy place building a fire in her fire pit, playing her radio 24/7, the station had to be on country music, cutting the grass or just sitting watching the world around her. She was very independent and could cut and stack her own wood. She could change a tire but she better not break a nail or chip the nail polish.....or everyone would hear about it! Sue is survived by her mother Eileen M. Branam; brother Fred (Connie) Branam and their children Jeffrey Branam, Bobbi (Steve) Paddock; sisters Diane (Jim) Mankee and their children Kevin and Nicole; Lois (Jasson) Williams and their children Jennifer, Eric, Jerry (Leah) Williams; brother-in-law Steve (Marilyn) Barrett and his children Shelly (Ralph) Pizzi, Sandra (Ken) Watson; only surviving aunt Dee Dee Ring; step-children Mick (Kris) Zorza, Starr (Harold) Poquette; step-grandchildren Carly (Christopher) Homburg, Brett Zorza, Christopher Zorza. Preceding her in death were her beloved daughter Jackie Sue; husband Robert; father Lonnie R. Branam; brother Robert K. Branam; sister Sandra Barrett; her special friend/companion Steve Hurkman Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Mill Creek Assisted Living and Kendall Fladung along with all of her caregivers that are too many to name. We are thankful for the support our family has been given over these last months during trying times with visitor restrictions. Thank you also to the nurses and doctors at UP Health System Marquette and the Norlite staff. Thank you to Jeremy Hansen and staff at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral Home.
