PHILPOTT, Dorothy Suzanna, formerly of Cottlesville, and most recently, a resident at Pleasantview Manor, Lewisporte, passed away peacefully at James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Palliative Care, Gander  on October 10, 2020 in her 78th year.

She is predeceased by her loving Husband of 50 years, Harry (2012).

Left to celebrate her life are Daughter, Sharyn (Mark), Halifax, NS & Son Dean, Naniamo, BC, Grandchildren Andrew, Ian, Kathryn and Reed. She is also survived by brothers Alonzo (Bertha) and Henry (Wilma), and sister Alvina (Andrew), brother-in-Law Woodrow Philpott, and sisters-in-Law May Canning and Marjorie Philpott, as well as many nieces & nephews, and a multitude of friends.

Dorothy’s life was a life well lived. Known for her generosity and faith. She worked in various retail and clerical jobs, while being an immaculate homemaker and local volunteer. Aunt Dot loved to “love on” everyone She met, and is remembered for sharing her genuine loving kindness through her talents in the kitchen. Her legendary spice pudding and many baked goods warmed the hearts and souls of many. Her invitation to come “come down to the point for a cup of tea and a bun” was sincere and welcoming. Ever grateful,she rarely received a favour or gift without acknowledgement and thanks.

Throughout her life, Dorothy was fearless in her faith and she filled many position in her local church, Salem Pentecostal. She helped to lay the soundtrack of Cottlesville and Pleasantview Manor through her talents on the piano and accordion, blessing many with music and song. Over the last decade, she brought that same generous spirit to volunteer work helping to feed “her oldies” in Twillingate.

Dorothy is resting at the New World Island Funeral Home, Summerford, NL, where viewing will take place on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Salem Pentecostal Church, Cottlesville.
