Dennis E. Jeffers, age 75, formerly of Oneida, TN, passed away at his home in Greer, SC, after a short illness on Saturday, October 11, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude E. and Iris Blakley Jeffers, and sister-in-law Phylis Jeffers. He is survived by his wife Patsy Jeffers, son and daughter-in-law Drew and Cathleen Jeffers, and very special granddaughter Caroline Elizabeth Jeffers all of Greer, SC. He is also survived by brother Keith Jeffers of Helenwood, TN, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Stephanie Jones of Luverne, AL. Mr. Jeffers also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He served as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged from the United States Army with the rank of Captain. A well-known businessman, Mr. Jeffers began his career in 1972 at the West Coal Corporation, where he served many years as their comptroller. In 1991, he opened the Dennis E. Jeffers Accounting Firm. Visitation for Mr. Jeffers will be held Saturday October 17, 2020 at First Baptist Church Oneida from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. Funeral services will follow at 4:00pm, Dr. Doug White officiating. Private graveside services will be held Sunday October 18, 2020 at 11:00am at Carson Memorial. Pallbearers for Mr. Jeffers will be Don Woods, Roy McDonald Jr., Blake Reid, Brad Reid, Jack E. Lay, and Norvan Blakeley Jr. Members of the New Mixed Sunday School class will be honorary pallbearers. The family has requested that everyone wear a mask. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church Oneida or The HealthWell Foundation at 20440 Century Blvd, Germantown, MD 20874. Four Oaks Funeral Home of Oneida has been entrusted with final arrangements for Dennis E. Jeffers.
